Car Rental From Knock Airport
Car rental would be a far more efficient way to travel and would also be a very reasonable cost effective way to go. You can get a car rental for a low as €110 for 27-29 March. Here is a link to request a price for the vehicle you require –

Taxi from Knock Airport is a quicker option but very expensive and the price would be roughly €150 one way.

By Bus
There is no direct bus from Knock Airport to Ballinasloe, there are a few options though.
1. Bus + Bus (via Castlerea)
Cheapest public transport
- Take Bus Éireann/Local Link from Knock Airport to Castlerea, then connect to Ballinasloe.
- Total journey: ~3 h 34 m, costs €20–23, with around three daily services
- No direct bus; transfer required at Castlerea.
- Departure example: Bus leaves Knock at 08:01, arriving Ballinasloe by 12:10; also a 12:15→16:20 service
2. Bus → Train (via Galway)
- Bus Airport → Galway Bus Station (Route 64 Expressway) takes ~1 h 45 m, tickets ~€15.50
- Then take Irish Rail from Galway to Ballinasloe via the Dublin–Galway line. Galway–Ballinasloe train time is about 1 h 10 m, with total trip around 2 h 54 m and cost ~€16–27 rome2rio.com+1rome2rio.com+1.
3. Bus → Bus (via Galway)
- Same first leg by Route 64 to Galway, then catch a Citylink (Route 763) or Bus Éireann bus from Galway to Ballinasloe.
- Total travel ~3 h 10 m, costing €20–33
